Re: Snow, Carnage and Madness on the Mojave Trail

DANGER: EXTREME SELF-PITY

I could slit my wrists. Rear end should be back in tomorrow.

You guys had the dream trip of a lifetime. Back here, it just rained and blew the entire weekend... not a glimpse of sun. You guys scored bigtime to do this trip and seeing your gorgeous photos is terrific.

How lucky we all are to have such a great crew and a family experience that 99% out there just don't get. I might have to include myself in that statistic, the way things are going lately!

Can't wait for SoCalFJ's next planned trip, and the next major mechanical breakage that will immediately precede it.

And hopefully Nevadesh will once again save my son and I from getting blown away in the tent. Hey Uphill.. I see you took my spot!

[/SELF-PITY]

Did everybody wash off the salt real good under you rigs? If not your rigs will start rusting pretty fast.

Dominic, do you like that cooler you're using? Wondering if I should get a big one or a little one.

It did ok.

it chills to 40 under the surrounding temperature, and is pretty quiet. But i'd much rather have one of the ARB ones.

You should have seen her fridge before going on this adventure I asked for a room @ their place

Hey again how did Ben (FlynDrive) get there??? I so confused
He flew and drove - flew to Phoenix and then drove with CROZ to the run.

It is normally ran from the AVI just south of Laughlin to Barstow we ran it from Barstow to the AVI. You start off of needles HWY just north of the AVI and end at Afton Canyon off the 15 a bit north of Barstow. I don't have any GPS other wise I would post it for you. Maybe some one else has it.
Mojave Road Guide - DesertUSA Store

Do yourself a favor and buy this book. It has exact odometer readings and helps you a LOT to understand the trip - it's interpretive, not just a map. Also if you are going, it never hurts to see if somebody who's been before wants to do it with you. Most of us find ourselves returning because of the nature of the place. There are also side trips you can do with a small group that are VERY interesting, very fun.

X2 That Salt Lake Mud is just like thick glue and you have to work to get it out.

Re: Snow, Carnage and Madness on the Mojave Trail

I was heartsick before the run when I realized I had to cancel. Now I am about seven detents past "Crestfallen". Looking at the photos and stuff ... you guys are about to bring a tear to this former submariner's one good eye. I feel like the kid who is looking out the rainy window while all the other guys are outside playing! :-)

Glad you all had fun. Good times!

Hunter
