Trail Report/Photo Section/GPS CoordinatesBeen offroad with your FJ? Tell us about it and post up any photos or GPS coordinates so others can possibly follow in your footsteps!
As we get the tool box out of the truck, the vehicle starts to slide on the liquified Russian steppe and Alejandro was lucky not to get trapped under the vehicle and run over. The FJC slides like 20 ft down the 30 degree slope (with hand brake full on and vehicle not running).
You'll notice that my photos of the stuck FJ drop off after that 20 ft slide. After being pulled by the sliding FJ for the first 5ft before bailing, my light-hearted exuberance dissipated.
Looking back, it was an exciting adventure. But I may not believe Mark the next time he says "It's an easy run."

P.S. There has to be a better design for these high lifts. Fue un pesadillo.
The last time you and I ran that road (about 6-7 weeks ago?), the weather was just as wet, and so forth and we took the by-passes but didn't sink to the axles. What happened this time? In fact, that bad piece you were tripping up went rather smoothly for both of us - no carnage at all. In fact it was raining and was snowing at Big Bear when we ran it.
Anyway, you had the recovery gear and the know-how to use it. Do you know why the winch failed? Is it a Warn?
