Re: Mojave Road April 5-6 Report

I found this thing on the web and was wondering if it would work on the FJs in a pinch.

Re: Mojave Road April 5-6 Report

I'll have some photos up shortly both here and on my build-up thread. I still don't know the extent of the carnage to GON2SRF's rig, but it's not going to be out there playing for a while.

This is the extent of the CARNAGE to all rigs that I'm aware of:

GON2SRF - Broken All Pro Ultimate Sway Bar Link/torn CV Boot the first day. On the second day he seriously damaged the L/F Knuckle, UCA, spindle may be OK but we don't know what the bearings look like -- and even though we disassembled the axle and jury rigged the L/F with a smaller tire and a spacer from SPERTIERRA's R/R tire to get the tire to clear the UCA, things were still horribly messed up.

MUDDYGRRL - Broken Mirror (I'm not going to mention the 7 years of bad luck that is supposed to bring because she didn't break it, the JESHUA tree did it).

MATTMAINSTER - Torn sidewall L/R tire (same rock that sorta destroyed GON2SRF's L/F)

SPERTIERRA - Electrical problem the first part of the first day traced back to a loose/shorting hot wire on the winch.

Re: Mojave Road April 5-6 Report

THE FIESTA!

Ok, yes we ran the trail and there will be photos of the trail run and carnage that will be posted later.

But what you (dear readers) really want to hear about first is the PARTY. To spite the Day 1 carnage reports, we made VERY good time from Ft. Mojave to Beal Mountain where we ultimately camped.

Once camped, things got started:

MUDDYGRRL, SANDABBE, MissUPHILL and others constructed a Women's only latrine. Yes, it looks primitive, but the less said, the better.

GTKROCKETT BBQ's a real FEAST. Short ribs and carne asada, chicken, etc. KINGAZTECA is seen in this photo getting ready for the feast. In addition to that, there was a massive pot luck with carnitas from WRIGMAN, 20 pounds of strawberries from KOMOMBO, etc.

GON2SRF prepares his signature apple cobbler (from scratch) cooked in the Dutch Oven. It was a real treat and something you need to ask him to do if he's ever on a run with you.

MR/MRSMUDLOVINGFJ try out DOMINICG's ARB roofrack tent. (breaking in is more like it). They did make an appearance at the campsite later.

The Raffle begins - Fragrance from COTY, headlight covers from AEROFLOW, Trail Teams hydration packs, t-shirts, gloves, etc. We already had the trail swag from earlier in the day featuring t-shirts designed by MATTMAINSTER and sponsored by DIRTY PARTS!

DOMINICG - happy winner!

KIETH, MUDDYGRRL, GON2SRF and WRIGMAN begin the songs.

THE FIESTA begins in earnest. MissUPHILL, MRSMATTMAINSTER, MRSMUDLOVINGFJ and MRMUDLOVINGFJ brought along a girlfriend for DOMINICG.

Are you talking to me?

I'm talking to you!!

Clash of Titans...

Then things started to go downhill from there.

Re: Mojave Road April 5-6 Report

Glad to see a good time was had by all, and that the carnage was kept to a minimum.

Can't believe Scott went through another sway bar link and CV boot - might be a world record...

Hey, Matt, how did the shirts turn out ?

Looking forward to seeing one in person (hint, hint...)
