Re: Return -- to the Valley of Death!

I just figured out why I hate Dippin' Dots! I don't know why it didn't occur to me before!

I love (read: LOVE) caramel on my ice cream. Warm, oozing caramel. You can't possibly put that on those silly little ball bearings of ice milk!

Mo!!!

Your forgetting! Dippin dots aren't dairy! They don't have cows in the future.

Sooo.. basically, you can still use caramel!

Nuh-uh! Caramel is made from milk! I MUST have carmel. Or Nutella....that works but it ain't caramel.

Re: Return -- to the Valley of Death!

Well better late than never. Here are a few pics from our run into DV - Part Deux:

Friday, the day prior to the run, we met up with Kokopeli and his two sons for a quick look at the Trona Pinnacles.

The Pinnacles

Kokopeli's Tim and Keith loved pinnacle climbing

On the way into the Pinnacles we happened upon a movie set. The odd structure is a Urban Outfitters store, or part of one, that has fallen from the sky. This is an upcoming movie, Land of the Lost, starring Will Ferrel.

to be continued:

Death Valley Part Deux: Day 1 Continued

After lunch, we continued to rise in elevation and we finally reached the tree line at roughly 7000 feet. It was considerably cooler at that altitude. I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed the break.

The group stops in a loose Flying V formation..

And everyone gathers around to either read the sign or to watch MuddyGrrl walk on the rocks.. Does anyone remember what the sign said?

Back on the trail we went and I had an opportunity for another "through the windshield" capture. Doesn't Poker have a nice arse?

A short distance up the trail we were making another stop.. MuddyGrrl hopped out of her rig, ran over to mine and did something to my front end..

Thanks for the awesome swag Mo! And for the record, even going through the rough stuff we found, my cowbell hardly made a sound.

A proud poppa hugging his Princess..

Checking out Poker's new IPFs..

Just shootin' the breeze with friends..

Oliver Tim and Poker, doing what Poker does.

Why'd we stop here you ask? Why it was the view, of course!

Heading back down, I saw another opportunity for a quick shot.. Poker and StHarris..

Day one's trail is drawing to a close as we near our campsite..

MuddyGrrl and pokerDawg..

Muddy, Poker and StHarris.

Day 2 coming soon to a forum post near you!
