Yet another Big Bear thread

A few of us took Friday off, and explored various trails on the backside of the Big Bear Lake area. Some trails and areas covered include 3N14, 3N99, 3N59, 3N59A, 3N17, 3N16. Good times, amazing views and trails, and of course, some DEFINITIVE pucker factor. White Mountain (3N17) was a beautiful run. T, D, and B...I'll email out the high rez shots, they'll include many that I'm not posting here (similar shots, etc).

We finished up our excursion with the Sat, 8am TT moderate run.

Here comes the photo barrage, you've been warned...

Lunch #1 at Horseshoe Springs Campground

3N59

Illegal hill climbs off 3N59A @ Luna Mountain

Bryan and Tony...at the top of Luna (yes we were dumb enough to hike up there)

Re: Yet another Big Bear thread

PUCKER FACTOR ALERT!!!!!!
Dave and Tony should be along to post additional pics, you'll see my "hands were tied" and couldn't take pictures during the recovery. The drop off was steep, a definite 10 roller.

Re: Yet another Big Bear thread

After a successful recovery, we were on our way to 3N17, White Mountain. Rocky terrain with a few options for steep hill climbs and rock ladders.

Re: Yet another Big Bear thread

Great shots Doug. I can't wait to see the rest. I have a few, but only a few. I'll post them after you've posted yours so we won't overlap.

We were up there early Friday. The plan is to check out some trails that are available for adoption. We really like the Butler Peak area-specifically up near Horse Springs Campground. Beautiful area that's easily accessible from the high desert area. It's not as well traveled as the areas closer to Big Bear, but the scenery is breath taking.

Way to go on spoiling my "teaser"! Now I don't know where to post the rest of the story.

Re: Yet another Big Bear thread

Doug, great shots. You've fed my ego nicely tonight! Looks like I got a lot of air on that one obstacle. Are you going to fill in the reserved spot later? I need to work on a redacted version of the rescue.
