Trail Report/Photo Section/GPS CoordinatesBeen offroad with your FJ? Tell us about it and post up any photos or GPS coordinates so others can possibly follow in your footsteps!
That looks like an awsome trip where do I sign up for next year? Great pictures. I dont know how everyone avoided body damage,I could get body damage at Glamis.
The key, as Annie mentioned, is concentration at all times while driving, and listening to your spotters. Last year's FJ Cruiser run was special, as there were so many Trail Team members helping spot.

any chance the Trail team will be in full force at Rubithon this year ? It sure would be nice for the FJC if that was the case , way different than in my old 40 I'm thinking.

Normally, the Trail Teams' schedule isn't out until Feb. As it stands right now, there is no confirmation that they will be wheeling this year. I have heard that they will focus on more non-4x4 events (skiing, mt biking, etc). I know many of the members of the Trail Teams want to do it, we'll see if it happens or not.
If we can find enough people that want to do it, they will have a FJC specific run. I don't think it will be a 3day run this time, we're expecting fewer rigs this year, so it may be a bit lighter in attendance.
If anyone knows someone that wants to be a Trail Leader, I can put you in contact with Tony Twiddy and the Trail Run chairman

I also heard that the TTT guys would be cutting back on many events also but that they wanted to do a select set of events Cruise Moab and Rubithon sounded like they were almost definates but like you said nothing is set until February.
If they do it again, Robbie mentioned he might lead, he also mentioned he might want to drive it.
I am definately going, glad to hear if there is a FJC run it will not be a 3 day run. That was a drag waiting for the double locker group all day on Thursday, we were making excellent time and could have made it no problem on Thursday to the springs.
If no one else with real Rubicon experience steps up, I would be willing to lead a FJC run. John Jeremy (I think his last name) did it with us last year, and had done it the year before also. If he does it again, he would be a good leader. imho

I don't think you were waiting on our run Thursday. We were up and gone long before you guys broke camp. You sure you weren't behind the wagons? Did you guys camp at Buck Wednesday?
As for Trail Leads, they usually like some one that has run it multiple times, mostly so they don't get lost (it's happened several times).
I suspect that if there is a run, it won't be quite as "guided" as last time. We have a guy in the PMC club that wants to go. I suspect we won't have many issues getting enough people.

We camped at Spider Lake Wed, the far side of Buck Island Thur.
If I recall, yes, the double locker group went by early then we waited for the wagon run to pass us later.
If we would have started earlier, we could have made Buck Island the first day, then into the springs the next day. However, in all reality, if we didn't have 3 walking "guides", it would have been different in my opinion. We seldom had to wait for a spot and/or aid to get past an obstacle. With a bunch of noobs and only one "guide", I'd say that we would be slower than this past event.
I'm not trying to be negative, just remembering how much support we got from Robbie, Ron and Woody...
