Re: tibaal89 on the Continental Divide Expedition

Thanks all!

homedad you're right, but usually I just have water (and some more water to go with that). If we get in trouble, I'll borrow your knife and wave it around in the air while you shoot things.

Re: tibaal89 on the Continental Divide Expedition

Awesome blog entries...but how did you guys get out of the mud towards the end...where you both sank in to the frame? Was there an attachment point for winching on the other side? The picks showed you being stuck and then you were magically (maybe like the unicorns) at the Pie Shop!

BTW, I had never heard of Charlie the Unicorn and about busted a blood vessel watching that video.

Charlie... Charlie... it's a maaaagical video, a maaagical video with mystical powers. It brings joy, and joyness...

There were no trees or other winch points anywere. We had a Pull-Pal with us (basically a huge land-anchor for anyone who's not familiar) and that worked extremely well. 1leglance pulled himself up with that, and then turned around to winch the rest of us up.

It was a good time, that's for sure! Muddy....

AH. Ok, I get it now. I read that and it just didn't register. Good piece of gear to have...

Re: tibaal89 on the Continental Divide Expedition

Yea, depending on where you live... they're not bad in the middle of the desert where the possibility of not having a winch point is pretty good. Obivously not worth much if there's trees around or if you're on the rocks. Also it is a HUGE piece of equipment. Saved our butts that time though, for sure.
