Need Suggestions - St George Utah

Hey All.. we are taking a family trip in a few weeks to St George, Utah. I just had the lift/bumper/winch/skids installed and wanted to take them for a spin on a decent range of trail while we are down south.

Short of driving 4+ hours over to Moab, does anyone have some suggestions of fun/technical trails near St George?

Thanks a bunch.

Re: Need Suggestions - St George Utah

I've never wheeled near there, but I've hiked to a bunch of cool native american sites around St. George. When is spring break? I hear St. George is just silly during spring break.

There should be plenty of off-roading to be had there. I will consult "the book" when I get home.

Check out the forum expeditionutah for good sources. Another good online resource is traildamage.com.

The only guide book I have on Utah is Moab area, but I know there are others available.

A nice trip is south of SG to Toroweep which is a camping hiking area on the North rim of the Grand Canyon. Nice day trip and if there is mud or snow, could be a challenge.
Have fun....heading to Utah in March for some fun as well.

The least you could do is invite some of your "Northern Brothers" down south with you! I know MY bones (and FJ) could use some warmth!

When I went up to Idaho, I got some great trail maps from the Forest Service. Look for the local Forest Service office in St Geo.

Oh--make sure to have some Pizza Factory while you are there!
