Re: Rubithon 2013

I have yet to go see the "Improvements" (not) they did on that trail. Last time I was out there I wished my 33's could magically change to 35's

Rubi is gnarly!!!!

What are the dates for it? Thought they were posted late last year when I was considering it.
I believe first weekend in May is pretty standard.

Sean Sykora, Kevin "Dockbox" and I are talking about taking the route Top Gear US took up to Moab. I am sure anyone who wants to join is welcome.

Re: Rubithon 2013

I'm thinking, depends on whether i manage to move away from here this spring, and then it's always hard finding time off after moving etc…
Plus, I'd have to buy 'real' tires

Re: Rubithon 2013

I want to go to this, however, not sure if I will have the mods completed/leave available to travel there.

We aren't requiring that many, just the minimum to ensure for potential breakage is at a minimum along with able to keep the flow of traffic on the trail at a steady pace. Rubicon as a trail is the hardest right after the snow melts. The trail literally changes each year because of the snow moving the rocks around so we want to make sure that each truck is set up properly because there will be lots of metal grinding against rocks.
  • 34-35" Tire
  • Front Bumper
  • Sliders
  • Skid Plates
  • Aftermarket Lower Links
  • Basic spare parts that are common failures on the trail

Re: Rubithon 2013

Thanks LT. Looks like a sensible list to me.

Re: Rubithon 2013

What I would like to know more about is,
Is this an overnight? or more
What about the details as far as, start - stop locations,
possibilities of tow rig & trailer parking,
details details.
Some of us could be coming from far off.
I have seen some dates, being 4-5 days apart. If this is an FJC only run, that takes up say, 3 days, what else is there?

PM sent on details. Also look at IH8MUD in the TLCA section for info on the Rubithon.
