Clear Creek, California Sat Feb 3rd

Last minute thing, but my schedule just cleared up. Anyone interested in exploring Clear Creek (south of Hollister, north of Coalinga) on Saturday the 3rd? From San Jose it takes a couple hours to get there but it is a good winter alternative to yet another Hollister trip.

Clear creek is a huge area with many trails. It is better known to the motorcycle crowd but still lots of terrain for 4x4's. Many of the trails are long and easy/moderate and actually go somewhere as opposed to driving around inside a small fenced in park like Frank Raines. From what I understand there are some more difficult trails too but I've not taken them yet myself. It can be a muddy place depending on the weather. Also, my experience has been that some of the trails are narrow and you are likely to get scratched from Manzanita so don't consider it unless your willing to accept this. There is also an old mining ghost town and some nice scenery as this is a very remote part of California.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

edit: by the way, my avitar picture is taken at clear creek last April
