As I stated several times this weekend
Sean was right, this is the number one mod you could do for more extreme capablities. Its on my short list
We missed you, I think we will be talking soon about a few things

Ya, sorry for completely bailing. On Saturday morning....just as I was finishing up the full hydro (just had to weld in one last bracket to hold two bolts that mounted the reservoir) I found a CRACK in the power steering pump. I had another one as a spare (at $400 a piece!) and found out that the bolt pattern was SAE and not metric, so it really isn't a bolt in spare anyway.
Long story short, I was so pissed/depressed I didn't touch the buggy the rest of the day or Sunday. I'm going to send back the SAE pump today and the search now begins for another pump that can put out the kind of volume the system needs (6 gpm and 1650 psi).
I've been down for a month now b/c of this stupid pump problem.....and it's been a problem since the very first time I took it out (the old can style reservoir was also cracked). Fawkin' GM style pumps. If it was a Toyota one, this would be a non-issue.

Hey, you went the "Easy" way, the trail is just to the left of where you drove. stay on the trails
Nice to know the FJ can clear the bypass at firehole though.
How did the FJ do at the falls near the end? Make the whole trail ok?
I love woodpecker.
More great news.....the manufacturer I was planning to use for the new pump can't keep up with what my system demands. Looks like I'm stuck with the expensive, but none too sturdy pumps I have now. I'm sending the SAE pump back to exchange for the Metric.

Re: Woodpecker 03/31
What about the entrance to woodpecker? Through the wash, or up over the hill?
I love that wash.
I was amazed at how washed away that bypass at firelhole is now. I remember it being a lot easier looking when I ran it a while back about 8 years ago. Serious props to taking the FJ in there. Takes some freaking commitment to do that to a new vehicle.
I can't wait to get my lift done and be able to come back to some of the old trails out there.

Mineral Mountain road, into the wash... and in the wash from there on... back on the road over Ajax trail (which we would have come down had we time) and then out by way of Cottonwood canyon.
