Hello all you AZFJer's,
yeah yeah I know we haven't even gotta through this weekend's run and here I am posting about another outing but I figure if I need a bit of a lead time to get my act together a few other folks might also.
For this run we will be getting into some warm temps for the valley of the sun so I am looking to go more north.
Maybe go to Flagstaff and play in the Cinders area or some other northern run....those with more knowledge & experience can chime in here. Another thought is to hit the backside of a lake/river/water area for some splashing and either the midpt or end of a run.
All thoughts welcome as I am going out somewhere either Sat or Sun that weekend so I am looking to hear who is free which day and where we should go.
Enjoy

15 views and no replies...come on people I have cuban cigars to share
Jon-bellydoc had a great idea about a run that ends at a lake/beach...
it should be warm enough to really enjoy this
otherwise I was thinking Flagstaff & the cinders rec area
or other ideas are welcome
enjoy

I've been thinking about going up the Apache Trail to Lake Roosevelt. I know this is not an off road run, but it is kinda pretty up there, and just a little hairy going down fish creek hill. There is a neat place at Tortilla flat to eat. Just throwing something out there.
hey mitch good to hear from ya...
I am always better to go on a sunday as the honey do list covers most sat's
I agree that apache trail to roosevelt with tortilla flat is nice but maybe a bit too mellow even for the most novice of us
I like the idea of that area for the sake of the east valley folks so maybe jon-bellydoc's idea of bulldog canyon & the beach or something like that along 1 of the lakes....more research to be done.
keep the ideas flowing folks

I would love to go on a run but considering that my FJ has only 60 miles on it (2 days old) at the moment, I still need to break it in some more.
Still need to learn how the 4x4 gears work, so maybe I can go on an easy run first and work my way up (literally).
Hey Cruiser, me and 3DTONKA live in Fountain Hills - is your FJ silver? Ours is Sun Fusion, wonder if we've seen you. Congrats on the purchase. We still have yet to 'off road' also - and are completely stock, we are in need of some better tires before we go to alot of places. The drive up to Roosevelt Lake is something that we were going to do in the near future - the road is paved until just after Canyon Lake (I believe) and it is very scenic. PM me if you are interested.

Hiya Kat I didn't process that you guys live in FH.... I don't know why not, its right there under your avatar!
Sherlock Holmes, I AIN'T.
There are a few little tidbits to check out right in your backyard too... I'd describe them, but Lance keeps cataloging everything I say and I'm worried he'll overload with anticipation. Once we feed his mania a bit more, I'll re-stoke the fires
Hey cruiser I hit broken arrow in sedona with only 346 miles and bone stock!
you can do alot in the FJ so come on out this weekend with us.
You have some great play areas in your neck of the valley according to google earth and trails.com
get out and check them out for us, even the mellow stuff is fun.
I had around 100 miles when I started playing in the river bottom so get out there!
enjoy

Hey Lance, I know we are a few months away (7 or 8), but cinder hills OHV area is the bomb after a snow storm...something to think about for a future run. He11, I'm not sure but maybe there will be enough snow from this low to give yall a good snow run in flag on Saturday.
