Hey Dan;
I called Island Hideaway Campground in Buxton and their rate for a tent and vehicle is $17 per night, ph 252-995-6628. No hookups, but they have a bathhouse with hot showers, etc, about a mile from the Lighthouse. Island Hide-A-Way Camping
Also called Cape Woods Campground in Buxton and they said theirs are $26 a night, $33 with hookups. The lady said she'd be there til 8PM tonight, in case you're interested, ph 252-995-5850. Cape Woods Campground
Those are the only ones I could get on the phone this evening, not sure if either would work for you, a little bit of a drive from Hatteras. Here's a website that lists all of them: Outer Banks Motels and Campgrounds

Thanks Brian!! Any idea how far from where everyone else is going to be hanging out?
Buxton is roughly 6 miles North of the Bruisers House in Frisco, and roughly 10 miles North of the Hatteras Village area where the rest of us are staying. But I expect we'll be roaming the Beaches through that whole general area over the weekend. Partially because Cape Point, off Beach Ramp 43 in Buxton, is supposed to be the best fishing area at OBX, and one of the best in the world, because of it's proximity to the Gulf Stream. The attachment below is the best file map of OBX I have, although Al tells me it's slightly outdated.
Thanks again Brian. I'm taking off Friday so I'll be down there around noon. I've gonna ahead and reserved a site at Frisco. So any idea on how I'd go about meeting up with you guys, once I'm there? Cell phones only?

If you can call one of us on our cell when you get close to Frisco we'll have someone meet you at an easy to see spot along the main drag in Frisco and show you around, if that's cool? We're also planning a meetup in the Hatteras Landing parking lot to make a familiarization run at 4PM Friday, which will be our main gathering spot all weekend: Hatteras Landing - Shopping, Dining, Fishing and Lodging, Hatteras Island, Outer Banks, NC To get to Hatteras Landing you stay on 12 South almost till it ends at the ocean, and you'll see it on the right once you're close to the Ferry loading area. One good thing about the south end of OBX is there's only one main drag so it's easy to find your way around, and FJ's are easy to spot, even on the huge beaches.

Fishing rods are on the roof rack, truck is loaded. I leaving at 5am should be there about 6 or 7pm. I'll try not to catch all the fish before you guys get there!
Count us in, My wife and I plan to drive down and catch up with the group 10 am Sat. We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk (we have already done our share of roughing it) Looking forward to driving around on the sand. I found that a small electric leaf blower is the perfect accessory to get the sand out of the floor. Just plug it in and open all the doors.
. Yoda, family and I are all check in our house. The weather is perfect and we are stoked to get out on the beach in the morning. I am ready to catch some fish. We will be looking out for FJ's. Hope to see you guys. I just realized I am signed on Yoda's Login. FJAL
