AND FOR SOME REASON NOBODY WAS ON THE DESIGNATED CB CHANNEL 21 :BOOHOO: Well, Dave said he was but was having technical difficulty. I need a firestick.
Wow, that is pretty good eyesight to see my flashlights inside the car from afar!!

We were running CB21, Dave was having a little trouble but he and I were communicating ok. Wish I had known you were there we should have hooked up.

Rick, too bad we were a little late getting to you guys. Did hang out most of the time with Dave, Pokerdawg, and MudlovingFJ. As it turned out, the connector to the tank was not fully engaged. Must have happened when I had the tank filled last time. All is well and it's great! Works so much faster then the unit I had (which was no slouch). Can't wait to try it with Monster Valves. Hope you guys had a good time Saturday night. When I get home tonight, I'll post some pics.
Glad to hear it is working!

I love mine, all four tires up in less than half the time it used to take with my compressor. Yeah, with the monster valves your only worry will be stopping before you overfill

Great time at the beach and hangin out with the different crews. Props to Dave (SoCalOCFJ) for helping a newbie air out his tires properly. Props to SoCal80s for inviting us for a great gourmet dinner at their camp site. RFJToY, Gone2Surf and Larry from Dirty Parts sure know how to camp with style. Had to drive out of the beach at 10pm and it was an adventure without fog lights. Awesome weekend, looking forward to the next meet.

Pismo Jim remarks Surf N Turf - Nov 2-4, 2007

Surf n' Turf 2007-08? - Page 16 - IH8MUD.com Forum

Quote:
Wow, what an amazing time!

The 6th Annual Surf N Turf is now history. Katherine and I want to thank everyone who attended the largest Surf N Turf ever. There is no way to known exactly how many Toyota Land Cruisers, 4WD trucks and FJ Cruisers were on the beach this past weekend but everyone seems to agree it had to be more than 300 rigs! That’s amazing!

Every year Surf N Turf makes me proud to be part of the Land Cruiser community. Everyone is so cool. Everyone is friendly, supportive and happy. It’s hard to imagine another example where such a diverse group of people, drawn together by a common interest, mix and socialize in such a positive fashion. We see people from every walk of life. Young, old, crazy, conservative, poor, rich, wild, mellow, I think we had it all covered. The only groups missing were asshats and jerks.

I realize this isn’t a surprise to most of you but it’s still pretty amazing when you stop to think about it and I hate to take it for granted. It is the reason Surf n Turf is such a success. Everyone I talked to within the group and outside are impressed by the camaraderie and good behavior of our group. Thank you all for being so cool. It matters and keeps the event alive and growing.

This year, there seem to be more families, kids and spouses than ever before. It’s great to see everyone’s kids growing up and some that re now showing up in their own cruisers!

That’s not to say we don’t have the wild and crazy side covered too. We love the “characters” at Surf N Turf. But we notice there are changes here as some of the usual suspects seem to be “growing up” before our eyes. Not to worry, there also seems to be a plethora of volunteers ready and willing to take over the reins as the wild and crazy souls providing our entertainment. Shock and awe, yeah, we still got that too!

During the past six years Surf N Turf has continued to evolve, much as the community itself evolves. The newbies aren’t newbies anymore and each year there are more experienced “dune runners” and “beach campers”.

It seems each Surf N Turf has it’s own flavor and it’s hard to predict what will happen any year. This year, the cool foggy conditions were a bit of a surprise and seemed to keep thing mellower than previous years. However, the damp conditions didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s sprits. Surf N Turf is more of a process than an event and that’s a good thing. We never know what to expect. Like I always say, the tide comes in and the tide goes out, nothing stays the same. Grow or die. It’s pretty clear Surf N Turf isn’t dying.

It looks like I have a few of the"Special Edition" shirts left over. These were only available at the event.

The shirts are $20 shipped (two for $35, three for $50)
Mostly XLs, but a few other sizes too. Please PM for availability.

The "Land Cruiser Beach Party " shirt has a simple pocket logo on the front and the 45LV with surfboard on the back (natural).

The "LAND CRUISER NATION" shirt (brown) has the "SNT MOB" on the back.

200 screennames...

Please PM me if you're interested.

Thanks,

Thanks,
If you run across any of the stickers I'll buy several and I'll take a large or medium t shirt if available. Thanks to you and Katherine for another memorable weekend in the sand. PM on the way.
