Pics from Nov 4th Eglin Run

Well. We're back. MJSFJ brought out his dad who performed duties as spotter and part time photographer. No body damage and no broken sway bar links.

Off-topic. This was the view above not too long before we started off. The C-130 doing the drop had already left the frame to the left. The 6th Ranger Training Battalion dropped three sticks into the area we were in, but I didn't see hide nor hair of them after they disappeared behind the trees on their way down.

Now, back to the business at hand. The first of many fun spots for the day would also be the tightest. Especially if you like your paint. Here's Matt coming down the Chute with some spotting help from his pop.

It's a REAL tight squeeze near the end. YEHAW!

I couldn't get over seeing another FJ behind me all day. Man that Voodoo Blue just looks so darned wicked!

Last hill before Matt's Crossing (no, I didn't give it that name) and another spot where the trusty bling plate got a little rubbing.

That would be Matt's dad's arm poking out of MY passenger window as we make the first water crossing of the day. And boy did I give him his nickels worth on his fifty foot ride!

For those who faint at the sight of risky water crossing pics you may want to look away for the next shot, or at least ignore the fact that my engine's air intake is in the front-right wheelwell.........

I was sure to yell across to Matt that he should NOT do what I just did!

Next we headed over to Star Wars Alley. The climb down made easier by the recent rains. Bonus!

That's it for MY pics since I was an idiot and didn't have my memory chip in the camera before I left the house. Matt has more of these areas and the rest of the day from Eglin.

Hey, Matt. It was great to get another FJ out for the ride. Great meeting you and your dad. You'll have to convince him to brush the cobwebs off that Defender of his when we do this again. Again? Yep. We just scratched the surface today.

Next time let's get a bunch of FJs together!

That just a quick dunk for the front end,right?

You did not have any problem and you did go through it, right?

Looks pretty fun, all the photos, not just the water tank!

Hey I am a photographer and I have forgot the same thing. lol

Now days I have an older / smaller Compact Flash Card, that I leave in my Glove box all the time.

Yep one of these days we need to get the TampaBay and Orlando area FJCs, to caravan up there. So you can show us all the good spots!
