Re: Shoe Creek, Va Near March 1, 2008

My group has grown. Originally it was 4 trucks and 8 people, now i have 7 trucks and i really dont know how many are riding. but we will be there.... not really set a time but i think we will figure that out in the next week or so. My understanding is that we will meet at the BP station on rt 29 with some of the guys from lynchburg. I think we are gonna possibly set at cb channel so that we can "keep it together". Honestly, i think we are gonna have so many that we will not be able to stay together but we could all meet up and have a BS session, shake some hands and such. Anyone else with any ideas on this speak up now 'cause we got time to figure it out.

also for those that have not been before we just bring some sandwiches or something because there is not a taco bell on the trail. we have done the grill thing before but it was too much to clean up after the fact.

Re: Shoe Creek, Va Near March 1, 2008

I would love to get in some southern VA runs... I have gotta get this baby boy outta the way (he is due 3/28) and then I will be down that way to get muddy with you guys.

I used to go to Lynchburg every weekend when my wife (GF back then) was in college down there... I also used to roll tghrough there in my motorcycle racing days (on the way to Danbury's VIR). Good country and lots of trails.

Count me in for some late Spring early Summer action!

And, I will post the FJ Bruiser's Mud Fling and other GWNF trips when the dates are etched in rock!

Re: Shoe Creek, Va Near March 1, 2008

I have 2 trucks, possibly 3 in my group.

We're going to arrive Fri and camp near the Perkins Mill Rd entrance. We saw a fairly large camping area immediately off the dirt road, right off the trail. We were also told by some yocals that there are several campsites available just before the one-lane bridge.

We'll have CB ch. 3 on. Follow the smell of bacon and eggs Sat morning. That'll be us.

Re: Shoe Creek, Va Near March 1, 2008

I received a call Sunday night from the fire warden in my area. He said there was a brush fire a half a mile away and they had evacuated a neighborhood. He suggested I be ready to move when told.

Re: Shoe Creek, Va Near March 1, 2008

i like the channel 3 on the cb idea. Lets make that our official channel for the day.

anywho, i think with all that is going on and the number of guys (and gals) in our group, that it will be 930am before we can get to the BP station on 29. I dont think it will be any earlier then that so you guys take your time eating breakfast.
