I'm up for this...it will be my first time trailing so can someone offer a little help. Not exactly sure where this place is at (I live in VA Beach) or what the protocol is for joinging a group. If someone could please PM me and shed some light I would much appreciate it.

Mapquest Montebello, VA that will get you very close, within a mile of the trail depending on the route others are taking in. There is no "protocol" just figure where everyone is going through this thread and show up. Prepare to have fun.
Unfortunately I have to bail on this run. A work function has come up that I have to attend Mar 1st in Raleigh. I am very sorry I will miss it. It is a very fun place.

We'll be leaving from Portsmouth on Fri after work. We plan on camping up there and you're welcome to join us if you'd like. If you can't make it Fri afternoon, let me know if you want to meet up sometime next week and we can give you some pretty detailed directions to make it to the trailhead on Sat.

A Rover is not so much a car as it is a squadron of parts flying in close formation. My Location

6: anything other then work

I am really sorry to miss this. I am close enough to make day runs here other times so we can work that out.
You know it always sux you have weekends of nothing special then you have weekends where you want/need to do many things and have to choose.
I am going to a hockey game in Raleigh with some colleagues so it will be fun, but it is also a networking opportunity that can't be missed.

Only one week until the big FJ trip! It'll be fun to see a train of FJs coming from the North, and a train of FJs coming from the South, try to pass each other on the trail. Should be a good time, and other campers/offroaders won't know what to think.

I can't wait. I just pulled out all my camping gear and set it up to make sure I had everything...although looking at the 30 degree prediction might not be the greatest...not quite sure what temp my tents is rated at...oh well that's why I have 10 degree sleeping bags and two dogs to keep me and my wife warm. This is going to be a great time.
