Re: Eglin Reservation Jan. 19-20

FINALLY, a picture of Bamacruiser's rig. Yes, he is running those supposedly "crappy" stock Dunlop Grandtreks, which happen to be the weapon of choice for this area. He made it look easy right after another another rig had to be winched out...

On the right is Yammy1 (who brought his Jeep AGAIN!) The blue Jeep is a friend of his, Brandon, who is absolutely fearless. He's probably trying to figure out how to ford this creek as this picture is being taken.

Then it was lunch at Magnolia, a favorite local swimming hole about 600 feet down stream of where the Weaver River springs out of the ground.

Re: Eglin Reservation Jan. 19-20

Yammy1 has a very nicely built Jeep. I heard a rumor that he has an FJ Cruiser too, but I cannot confirm this...

Here's, Bessy (that's what I call her anyway), the lonely Voodoo Blue on this run.

Everybody saying their good byes on Sunday after about 87 miles of trails.
Thanks to everyone who came. I hope you found the trip worth while. I
hope to see you all again very soon!

Nice to see you got the sliders bolted on before the trip, Scott. Although, it appears you were right about not really needing them. Looks like a fun trip!

I think sand rails would have worked this weekend. I did set the rails down on the sand a few times. and they seemed to hold up well.

Re: Eglin Reservation Jan. 19-20

hey! all, some really nice pictures posted from the run here. i must say it was a very fun and exciting trip, and could not of had a nicer, cooler group to wheel with, and the wives of the wheelers kept us guys all inline with the cooking. or warming etc. hats off to them. and Apex for really doing his homework to keep the run moving forward and all of us inline.. kind of anyway.
the dinner at Mquires was really awesome, them wings really got my attention. yum, Bama Cruiser. it should be illegal to let us all enjoy your spectacular Gumbo. I just couldn't get enough.. thanks Buddy. Apex boiled us up some shrimp that was, also the best i have ever had.. and thanks for all the laughs from you all. I also liked the dudes with the blazer and jeep. lol they are amazed at the fjs abilities .

Very nice meeting you all and putting a face with a screename. lots of very knowlegable owners in this forum. way above mine. Very nice driving out there Bama. You are a natural.... Rambo..lol I did manage to get my pictures up to photbucket and will try to get them on here later.

Just another note for all those question marks of did water get in the rear diff. well I went out popped open the rear and ,, No water at all.. good news...woot! that was for apex..woot! again it was a long drive for me but well worth it, and thanks to missmy60 to sharing his hotel with me..

Am I rambling...?

So much happened on the run and the place was a really great place to wheel and learn our fj even more.. Looking forward to doing it again in the near future. My wife told me get a run on a warm beach day. and she will be with me, .

Am I still rambling.. too much coffee.

the water///River crossing was kind of intimidating, but we all made it..Woot!
