Re: Eglin Reservation Jan. 19-20

Okay, I have some important information for those folks looking to do this
run on Jan 19th, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

Each driver and passenger over 16 is going to need an Eglin AFB Outdoor
Recreation Pass
. This is a blue card that allows access to the
nature reserve for recreational purposes and can be purchased through
the mail, acquired by me, or in person. Cost is $10 for the entire fiscal year
ending Sep. 30, 2008. (No, just having DoD stickers is not enough.)

Here is how to do this:
1) By Mail- Send a photocopy of either a driver license or identification
card which contains a full name, current address(including zip code),
current phone number, date of birth, and type of permit requested
(Recreational) along with money order, cashiers check, or personal check
to:
Eglin Natural Resources
107 Highway 85 North
Niceville, FL 32578

Allow 3 weeks for delivery by this method.

2) By Apexbasher- Email me the above required information in and I'll
do the leg work. Just pay me the $10 when we meet for the run.
Apexbasher@bellsouth.net

3) In Person- Stop by the Eglin AFB Natural Resources Office (850) 882-
4164 or (850) 882-4165 also known as the Jackson Guard, located at the
above mailing address. Their hours are:
7:00am - 4:30pm Monday through Thursday
7:00am - 6:00pm Friday
7:30am - 12:30pm Saturday
Closed Sundays and federal holidays

Okay, there it is. If you have questions feel free to contact me. The area
we will be in is not patrolled that much, but if we are stopped by the Air
Force security folks they will most certainly ask to see our passes. There is
a $300 fine involved for anybody without a valid pass. So just hold off
another week on the fuzzy dice mod that's been bothering you and spend
the $10 here instead.

MissMy60, Tennessee Squire just told me about this one tonight. We plan to be at our place in Seagrove Bch. starting Jan. 14th or 15th. We expect to get some fishing in.This run might work out well at the end of that week.
Assuming nothing gets in the way, we would look forward to seeing you guys.
Great to hear from you again.

It's about 20 miles East of the meeting spot along Rt 85. The place opens at 7:30 and we will likely make our gathing time 10:00ish, so you should be able to do it first thing in the morning. Let me know if you need any assistance.

Phil we are planning on being in Destin Friday morning the 18th for a little fishing if the weather is good. Call me if you think that you can make it
down then.

Besure to tell the family, it would be great see them all again.

Re: Eglin Reservation Jan. 19-20

Regarding the rec permit, if you pick it up in person, and it's your first time on Eglin, you'll have to watch a 5 minute video on unexploded ordinance - it's no big deal, just something to be aware of if you're short on time when you get there.

Oh yeah, I forgot that movie! It's a goodun.

Set Scene: Densely wooded area of Eglin Reservation, hiking couple in background moving toward camera.
Camera Movement: slowly receding revealing large bomb looking object laying on ground with the words "UNEXPLODED ORDINANCE" white lettered across it for identification.
Dialogue:
Husband- "Look, Mary, some litter bugs left a bunch of trash out here in this densely wooded area of the Eglin Reservation."
Wife- "No, dear. That's not trash. That looks like it may be unexploded ordinance, like what they warned us about when we got our Recreation Passes."
Husband- "You sure? I dunno, looks like just trash to me."
Wife- "Well, I think we should steer clear of it and let the Jackson Guard people know where it is using this nifty map they gave us."
Husband- "Heck with that! I'm gonna put this mystery to bed for good."
Action: Husband removes hand axe from pack.
Husband- "Here, I'm just gonna slam the pointy end of this thing with my hand axe, and...-"
Effects Shot:
