Okay, I'm posting this way out in advance so those of you from out of the area can do the planning required for travel and such. So Here goes:
Keep checking this post for updated information as it becomes available.
Let's go wheeling at Eglin Res. January 19-20, 2008. There is camping available for those interested. There are also a couple of motels, as well as a KOA, very close by at I-10 exit #31 (the intersection of I-10 and SR87).
This trip will include some nice trail runs, sand pits, technical hill climbs/descents, water crossings (some deep), etc. I plan on rolling out to the point at East Bay for what is always an amazing sunset and then a night run back to base camp.

Update 12/05- Very
important information for all attendees has been posted on Page 6 Post #51
CLICK HERE regarding recreation passes needed for all drivers on this run.
Update 12/10- Stock FJs are most certainly up to the task of running Eglin Reservation trails! Don't shy away from this ride just because your rig is not built up like a hard core buggy. Check out the pictures linked above of my stock suspension and tires.
Update 12/19- Okay, it has come to my attention that
ALL drivers AND passengers over the age of 16 must have a Rec pass. I am sorry about this, not an issue that I was familiar with since I am always alone in my FJ for these runs. Please make sure you have your passes in your possession during the run. Also, we will be holding a pre-run meet and greet on Friday the 18th at
McGuire's Irish Pub in Pensacola 7pm until they kick us out.

Monday 21 Jan-
????-???? I will probably not be up for much off-roading action on this day but would be glad to meet some folks for a trip through some local points of interest such as the Museum of Naval Aviation, Fort Barrancas, Santa Rosa Island (read, "the beach"), etc. I know some folks had expressed an interest in a trip to Destin.
This is just a rough outline, we have a bit of flexibility, and we all know the best laid plans last only thirty seconds under fire. SOOoooo...
Update 12/31- The meeting spot has shifted to simplify the process and allow for last minute supply and gas purchases. The new spot is the Tom Thumb (convenience store) located at the corner of SR87 and Hickory Hammock Road. This is located 2.1 miles south of the I-10 exit 31 along SR87.
