well, I'm here ( love unsecured wireless networks)

... or at least I think I'm here. current time is a bit early...
lets see where is HERE exactly ?

gps says
38 26.789 N
78 51.193 W

there's a couple guys here from Off Camber Crawlers... Looks like they're all set to go play... I'll stick around for a bit and then perhaps head to the dirt.

We will try to give more notice next time and hopefully get more people out.

It was great meeting Sparky from the forum, I think he had a good time.
If you got any pics sparky throw them up..

We hit lots of different trails from washed out rocky steep climbs to big tank trap mud holes.
On one trail we went up only to find it unpassable, it was steep and rocky (almost bolder like) I tried but it was just to much for the FJ with a lift and winch I think the Fj could have made it.
When we were there three guys in a taco and a rubicon were comming down the trail they had to turn around and go back also...
Lets just say that part of the trail was extreme..
this was the easy part

Re: VA trail ride on june 3rd (GWNF)

I had a GREAT time - in my opinion, albeit of limited experience, this is an amazingly capable vehicle. Obligatory comments :
"It's steeper, deeper, and sketchier than it looks".
"watch out for those mountain bikers"
"oh man, here come the locals"
- and -
"exactly HOW far are we from WVa ?"

The trails varyied from light rocks (babyheads) with outcrops and sketchy dirt. to full on mud-bogs, a nice freestone stream crossing, and a well-nigh impassible (in my opinion, that didn't stop Will + Cville from trying ) outcrop. All were well shrouded by trees, so much so that it felt very much like driving through green tunnels.

A-trac - brilliant. I never engaged the rear locker. Atrac was enough to get me up the couple of areas where I lost traction.

All in all... Great trip. Schedule permitting I'll be back.

Developing photos, I'll throw the best of what I got up later in the week.
