Tierra Del Sol’s Desert Safari, better known as TDS, is the largest off-road event for four wheel drive enthusiasts in California. It is held the first weekend in March every year, with this year’s event scheduled from February 29 to March 2, 2008.
All-Pro Off Road has been a long time supporter of this event. This year, All-Pro is setting up camp and organizing a separate run with a goal of uniting the Toyota 4x4s amongst the numerous Jeeps and other off-road vehicles. Rather than following hundreds of vehicles through the Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area, All-Pro will be leading its own group from Ocotillo to Truckhaven and back.
Registration with the Tierra Del Sol Four Wheel Drive Club of San Diego is required for the event, and All-Pro will have its own sign-up form for the run, which will be limited to around 30 vehicles. Following the trail ride, All-Pro will host a BBQ dinner back at camp with a slide show of the pictures taken that day.
Wow, you guys are all over the place. Sounds like a great time. I'll see you on the 12th. Too many things to do and not enough time. I have to choose between the two and the choice is easy and obvious. THE HAMMERS or bust....pun intended.

With the spotters showing up for the Hammers run you can have much more confidence that you will make it through with minimal problems. The experience they bring to the table is unreal.
As for TDS - its a great area and there is nobody better to follow & learn from than Jon. From John Bull in Big Bear to Wrecking Ball at the Hammers, he's a great guy to learn from and better your wheeling skills!
Way too many rigs. Looks like a mad house. Pismo on rocks? March is turning out to be a very busy month. I would like to go, but will have to check with schedule.

Thats nothing, there are typically over 1000 4x4's (plus their accompanying tow rigs and RV's) so it is literally a sea of vehicles when you first pull in to camp. BUT, thats why we have a smaller controlled group hitting the better truckhaven trails to the east.
