Glamis Camp - March 15-16

Some friends and I will be going to Glamis for my bday and you are more than welcome to come. We are camping for the weekend and will be heading out into the dunes regularly....if interested keep reading.....

Please plan to be at Ranger Station off Gecko Road by 0900 on the morning of Saturday, March 15th. If you are running late, please advise me by cell phone. I'll send you that number in a PM. I will be arriving friday night and stake out a camp area so after we all meet up we will head there. If anyone plans on arriving friday night just PM me or call and we can meet up. This is more of a "campout" than "trail run". We will all setup camp together but there are no organized trail runs because the dunes cover appx 118,000 acres, also some people will be bringing quads and/or dirtbikes. I'm sure there will be groups heading out into the dunes and you are more than welcome to join our group, but with this much space there are gonna be some people that just want to do their own thing, and that is fine.

VERY IMPORTANT
-Every primary vehicle requires a permit
-Every vehicle requires a safety flag
-For more info make sure to check the rules and regs link below

Gecko Road is off of the 78....for directions click here
Directions

The last fuel stop is about 30mins from the ranger station so make sure to fill up before arriving and extra gas cans are reccomended

Here is a link to a map of Glamis/Imperial Sand Dunes....

Here is a link for more info on rules and regulations for Glamis...
Imperial Sand Dunes Rules and Regs. BREAK THE LAW, GO TO JAIL.

Here is where to go to get your permit online....they only sell them in seasonal or weekly. Only $25 for the weekly pass though.......also you have to wait because they won't sell you the pass online until 2 weeks before the trip.......you can also purchase your permit there but I reccomend getting it online before hand.....

Maybe GLAMIS is too scary. I'll try my best to get out there. I'll be hauling two quads. My next mod is to get some stock steelies and throw some paddles on it, haul the steelies with my quad trailer and swap out my wheels when I get out there.

Hahaha, we had to change the date to the middle of March cause of the Tierra Del Sol....but this is the final date

Sounds like a good idea with the paddle tires!!! My buddy is working on his dune buggy to try and get it finished before we go....

How many times you been out there Mikescruiser?

I was at the Mojave run, I'm pretty sure we met......I was at the back of the line pretty much the whole run with Gordy right behind me. Are you going to MT2? I am an alternate right now.....

Have you been out to Glamis in the FJ? How did it do?

Oh ok....that was you!!! I don't think we did meet actually, with all the craziness and FJ's romping around I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to shake your hand.

Did you ride in CADAVEBERT's OC caravan too? I was pretty sure I saw your truck at the gas station...
