Your offer may be the best option since my Mom has a house in Boulder Creek and sister living in Ben Lomond. We haven't visited them for a 5 years but, neither one of them have room at their homes for an extra vehicle. In either event, there is a lot of planning I have to do but really want to make this happen. My daughters are "young teen-agers" and they will only tolerate these types of vacations for so long...
Wow I live in Felton (Lompico to be exact) Not real sure about the Rubicon. I would love to go but I am not sure if I will have the lift and tires by then. Wish I had a spot for you but I have but I have the same problem your family has, no space... Did you grow up around here????
Oh yeah Sol I found a gas tank for my 40.. I found a guy that had one in his backyard, and he gave it to me!!!!I am hoping to have the old girl running soon...

Nice find. I need to get mine out and drive it this weekend now that the rain is gone.

Yes, I grew up on Los Gatos, graduated from Leigh HS so long ago that I don't want to admit it. Lived in Santa Cruz where my daughters were born before we had to move to NC because my lovely wife has a "real job" that pays the bills...

The funny part about this is my mother lives in North Carolina. Davidson to be exact. She lives around lake Normand ( I believe thats what its called)..
Its real nice out ther, But my wife was born and raised around Santa Cruz and she will not leave. Can't say I Blame her though.. Other than the fact I have 5 jobs to be able to live here its beautiful!!!
When: Wednesday, June 18th through Sunday June 22nd, 2008 Where: Rubicon Trail
You can get more information from the Rubithon website (once it's updated ). You can also read about the event in the TLCA event thread on IH8MUD. Sounds like the FJ Trail Team is leading a special FJ Cruiser run.
I'll be there, as always, on Mudrak's Double locker run in my 40. Kitchen duties as well for Saturday breakfast and dinner.
It's a great run -- but be prepared for some damage in the FJC. the more lift, armor, and tires that you have, the better. Good idea to sign up for the FJC run, as the spotting will be the best for that rig. Take your time, and damage should be minimal, if at all.

Yup, that is one of the reasons we accepted my wife's relocation package. The cost of living here is way easier on the wallet but there is nothing that can match surfing at Steamer's Lane in the morning then driving up to do some night skiing in Tahoe. There is a lot that I miss in CA but one thing I don't miss is the heavy commutes, ultra-high density of humanity and what has become a "socialist" state...

I haven't decided if I'm going with the FJCTT group or going in with the Inchworm group. Jim basically told me that I had kitchen duties so I'll probably be the one peeling potatoes. I am looking forward to the run.
