Do we need to become a member to gclc for this run, or just pay for the run itself?
You do not need to be a member of GCLC.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a member of TCLA either, but I've been a member for a long time, so I don't know for sure.

That said, both are good deals and I recommend joining both. TLCA gets you Toyota Trails mag, full of technical info and wheeling tips/trip reports. It's mostly geared for Land Cruisers but now that FJCs are growing in numbers I I think we'll start seeing more about them as well. GCLC gets you a t-shirt (I'm told) and usually 2 free wheeling/camping trips up state NY on private land. One Memorial Day weekend, the other Labor Day weekend. Check out some of the pictures at Dave's place in our photo gallery to see a couple of those trips.

fjteddy already gets Toyota Trails, I give him mine when I'm done with it. About being a member, the registration form for the CMCC says for the drivers..."Must be a member of TLCA".

I'm already a member so it's not a problem for me but maybe someone can check that and let others know ?

Last year I went and you didn't have to be a member of the GCLC. But you do have to be a member of the TLCA. It's worth the membership, since you get the Toyota Trails magazine and stickers and dash decal.

I had a great time and the Gotham folks are great. The barbeque was top notch

I want to go, but I might have some scheduling conflicts this year.

That's the word I just got back from the club officers.

The TLCA membership (according to what I am told) is to get the TLCA sanctioning.

I will love to go to this one, Rausch Creek in the summer time should be awesome. I had so much fun the last time at Rausch with you guys, I don't know, it's a very, very long drive. I will have to think about it.

OK. Can you explain why we have to be TLCA members if it's a GCLC event? I joined GCLC earlier this year and thought that was adequate?

Not trying to be rude or pass the buck, but for a better answer than I gave above, this question should be asked on the club mailing list or the club forum on ih8mud.com where the officers hang out. I'm just a member like you, but I was a TLCA member before I was a GCLC member, so it's not an issue for me.

Re: Coal Mine Cruiser Classic - July 10-12 - Rausch Creek, PA

I only wish I joined the TLCA when I got my first Cruiser 'bout 20 years ago.
It is worth every cent. You won't be disappointed.

The event is sanctioned by the TLCA, so membership is needed. Very simple.

Hope to be able to make it this year. Got screwed out of vacation time this year at
work. Looks like I'm just going on Saturday for the day as passenger. Kinda bummed
but what can ya do.
Hope to see ya there!!!
