Re: TTORA SoCal's Johnson Valley run, March 28-30th

Zuk built rear diff is in!

Zuk is awesome. He had this rebuilt and back to me in one day pluss shipping. Total time out of my truck 5 days!! New Yukon 5.29's (Non cryo/heat treat because I didn't have the time.) Previous bearings were old so Zuk put a treated master install kit in along with a All Pro solid spacer. Perfect pattern, set up CORRECTLY. I have complete faith in this diff.

This is what happens when you have a poor gear setup and incorrectly treated gears. These were installed 7-5-06 and had maybe 1500 miles on them? Setup by a company in San Diego... I'll have a thread on this in a week or two. (On TTORA)

Truck is ready for Johnson Valley! Installed the diff, and shafts (with slightly twisted splines,) in about 1.5 hrs in the storage yard.. on the trailer.

Yup.. somewhere along the line I've twisted the splines on the 4130 shafts... WHEEE! No time to get replacements so... they go back in. Guess 37's, 100hp, 244:1 might be the max for Toy stuff for me.

I can't wait to hit the lake bed, unload the rig and do a quick break in for the gears.

That's amazing dedication and professionalism. You're lucky to find such a vendor.
