I was sorta leading the pack. I say sorta because we ended up on some pretty nasty rutted out stuff. With the help of 5 spotters, I made it down OK, but that took nearly 30 minutes for an intense 300 ft. It was just too difficult to clear some of the stuff without a lift, so the rest of the group turned back to find the main road.
ya, it was pretty bad. we went down some areas that were rated 8/10 on a difficulty level in the trail map guide thingy. said on a bad day with weathered terrain it could be a 9 or 10/10. not sure how difficult it was by rating standards but I can tell you I was pretty much ready for some dents in my body work. end the end I had to prerunner the last hill like a mofo and messed up my stock bumper, im sure I can find someone on the forum giving it away, wink wink.
so whos up for the offroad recovery class being taught? haha, i think we got schooled today.
thanks everone again for coming out and helping out. I had fun and im feeling it now.
btw, picture taking a garden rake and running it all over the side of your fj. thats what mine looks like right now. I took out a few small trees on my prerunner hill climb adventure, it was worth it though!

It's crazy because when you really think about it, the only ones that were really modded were Zoshyii (2wd) and the TRD(4wd). The rest of us were stock. What is that section called where Eric, and the 4runner (Brian?) had to be anchored down? That was an intense part of the run along with the last mishap, both of which Zoshyii headlined (props to you man!). The TRD handled it great too. I wish I had the cajones to make it down the two hardest sections that we encountered but I wasn't planning on spending more money I don't have to fix my rig after that. I'm sure the boulder would have went right into my door on the section where Zoshyii got hung up on his diff. Those sections were no joke.
Way to represent us Prerunner 4X2s, yoshyii!! Great photos, and an awesome writeup. Thanks! I can live vicariously thru this thread now....
I ran with some of these guys at Hungry Valley. They know how to drive their 4X2s very well! Sometimes it looks like they have more fun doing it! They love doing their donuts as well
I think you Prerunner folks should represent with your very own sticker!
Glad you all had fun

That is in this pic (pre-carnage). Kevin's 4Runner broke the running board here I think. I'm wondering if wider sliders would have helped prevented the fender dent, but in either case, I didn't touch them on this trip.

Usually we just go straight down at this part. It will scrape, but that's what skids and sliders are for right?

Haha, if it were only that easy. The trail was in pretty bad shape. We didn't envision the degradation being so abrupt (the trail leading into that part was smooth sailing, and quite misleading in its degree of difficulty). We initiall wanted to go straight through, but the 2ft drop on the passenger side was too much to tackle safely. The two other vehicles behind mine had to be lowered down with the help of tow-straps anchored to another vehicle.
Brian's TRD looked like it was going to roll forward (like the suzuki almost did) going down this part straight.
