SWEET! I spent the Mem. Day weekend out there with my wife, scouting trails, wreaking havoc with the Emerald Coast Land Rover Club I bumped into, etc.

Had some fun with those folks and even did a little recovery work when one of them got in a NASTY bit of trouble at a water crossing he decided to 'go on his OWN program' in. Lesson of the day? When they say go around the RIGHT side of the deep spot, do NOT go left INTO the deep spot! Luckily for him I had already posted my self across on the far bank with a strap hooked up and ready to back up for the assist.

The LR3 suffered no real damage outside of a set of water damaged speakers at the bottom of his rear hatch door.

And I found a new way out to the beach that involves a WHOLE lot less brush and puddle jumping. It has a few water crossings but the deeper ones are pretty tame and have-dare I say it?- rock bottoms. Yes, rock bottoms, here in Florida. I'm pretty sure the rock was put there by forces outside of nature, but still really nice considering that it's out in the middle of a bayou!

One more thing. Call it a "Friendly Tip"...

Bring insect repellent.

Lots of it.

It may come in useful if there is a wind shift at the beach and we get our breeze from the trees vice the usual bay breeze.

Im so ready for this and some away from home time. This week at work has been rough and busy. Gotta put in my CB tommorow and rewire Josh's since his keeps blowing the fuse. I had planned to have my on-board air system working but I dont have the mounts back from the metal shop, serves me right for putting it off for the past 2 weeks. Oh and I still need to set my Staun deflators. See yall Saturday.

Well, since I'm posting this at 0940 on Saturday, I'm obviously not going to make it - I couldn't convince the wife that hitting the trails was a good way to celebrate our anniversary, lol.

my wife told me to go the run in August at harlan and it will be our 15th . Says as long as you come back after your done playing..

This is our 8th anniversary, maybe after the 10th she'll finally decide it's not that big of a deal anymore, lol.

Too many details to list but I had a Blast today... Matt did a fantastic job today cordinating the ride along with duckhunter.. There were lots of pics taken so stayed tuned for those to come..

Yes, they called me from the beach/campsite last night to share with me a few of the tastes of the Gumbo and Shrimp. that really meant a lot for you guys to give me a call. The Fj has given me many new friends indeed. I could see the beach site in my mind.. And they said , it was 80 down there. A Lot better than 26.

next run I will get back down there with you guys.. Waiting for pictures? Way to cool..

Well, I had an absolute blast. Lots of great people showed up and I think it's safe to say everyone had a great time. Thanks Apexbasher for the great trails planned and Duckhunter for bringing the awsome gumbo.
