I'm interested.. That's my "stomping ground" and right in my back door. I can tell you stories about the cove in the fall and winter that go back 40 years! My wifes grandpaw was the old guy that made molasses there at the visitor's center during the 70's. It's a small world some times.. Ron

PS: I believe Parsons Branch is closed, but Rich mountain is always good. The thing about parsons Branch is that when you do it, it'll take the rest of the day to get back..LOL
very cool.

We went down Parsons branch Saturday and were going to try Rich mtn but we ran out of time.
I think it would be great to have a local on the ride t tell us all Mtn stories at the stops.

Oh.. Just saw a reference to this. We do the cove all the time and it's only about 25 miles from home. If yall are going to be there all weekend, we may drive up and look for FJ's.. Ron
Yep, were gonna be there all weekend so come on over.

So the branch is open.. Whoo Hoo! They were redoing it, for the 50th time, and I hadn't heard it was open. Did you turn west (right) and take the parkway back to Walland or left on the dragon back to Cherokee? Rich Mountain is a good short run, in that you can leave the cove and go over the mountain to Tuckaleechee Cove to Townsend. From there you can go through Wears Valley to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Little River road and, the Y and back to the cove. There's also East Millers Cove road that will take you to Walden's Creek and back in the Pigeon Forge. Lots of stuff and little roads around.. Ron

Some of us are doing a mod day this weekend and we were going to try to plane the roads to try. I will send you a PM when I find out more about our plans so you can give your opinion of the roads.

Bad news! Darren and Jessica are not going to be able to make the trip up now.

So, we have room for someone else to join us at the cabin. If anyone would like to join us please let me know asap, because final payment on the cabin is due this Friday.

The view from the cove is worth the drive!

here are a few pics of where we will be going.

one of the water crossings.

and remember that there are wild creatures out there and we will be in there home. so be careful...... (not all of them have there own sign)
