This was me in my stock TRD FJ in January on John Bull trail......I made it about a quarter of the way up and had to turn around cause I didn't want to dent anything else(I only dented the rock rails up to this point)
Just some advice if you have never been to Big Bear before.....unless you have 33's and skid plates you probably won't make it through John Bull without damage....but the rest of the trails and pretty much the rest of Big Bear you can do with a stock 4x4 FJ

As soon as I'm done with my run, I hope I can find you guys in JB. I'd love to capture that on camera!

I'm in! John Bull Trail 9am Saturday
Is there any room left on that 9am run of JB? I don't know if I can swing it this early in the year (was planning to go up in June sometime) but I still want to do the trail (after last year's fiasco).

Sign Up. You'll get conformation by email in a day or so.
Re: Trail Teams Invitational May 10/11 Big Bear CA
Hey Guys,
The Holcomb Creek trail is closed, and the TT is aware of it. If you signed up for it, I assume you will be switched to a Jacoby Creek run. I tried to switch from John Bull to Holcomb, and received the following reply:
"your request has been approved and processed. You are now on the Saturday May 10th 8am Jacoby Gulch Trail Run. Please make note of your changes
Holcomb Creek Trail is closed. Updates on the website to come soon. Jacoby Gulch is the same type of terrian and views.
Happy Trails"
I might switch back to John Bull if I can. I think the rig is ready, but I was doubting myself.
Re: Trail Teams Invitational May 10/11 Big Bear CA
What's the weather like up there in May? I saw in the thread someone mentioned lows in the 30's at night. I'd guess 9am is gonna be in the high 30's....with afternoon temps in the low 60's at most. How much snow is up there and are the roads clear? I gotta drag a trailer up there. Where do the runs leave from; the Discovery Center or somewhere else? ***EDIT*** is the Big Bear Expo Hall someplace other than the Discovery Center?***
Thanks,
Sean

Well, I signed up for JB at 9am on the 10th. If I can't make it for some reason, I assume I can just contact the TT through their site, right?

Sean,
Yes, I emailed them through the page for the Big Bear event. Got a response in 10 minutes.
Weather:
70s to low 80s during day, high 30s to low 40s at night. As always with high altitude, be prepared for anything.
