Re: Trail Teams Invitational May 10/11 Big Bear CA

This is an update from the the higher ups! Most of you probably know this already and the website should be updated to show the change. It is going to be a great weekend regardless!

Here is the update:

Closed: Holcomb Creek Trail

New Trail: Jacoby Gulch Trail (Same day/times)

The trail is of the same difficulty and beauty, just run on a different part of the lake/area.

Re: Trail Teams Invitational May 10/11 Big Bear CA

Good to see the update on the trail change.

Currently I dont have any skid protection yet. But plan on getting the following before Big Bear, should this be enough for Jacoby Gulch Trail?

- New DeMello Tube Sliders
- Rear Shock Mount skids-All Pro
- Rear control arm skids for brackets (on frame rails)-All Pro

Also I was checking it looks fairly easy to take off the mudflaps. Dont know if anybody else is doing that for the moderate run.

Thanks for anybodys input on this.

Re: Trail Teams Invitational May 10/11 Big Bear CA

Unfortunately, i am not. I am on stock suspension. And i would really hate to damage the undercarriage of my car. Do you think i should do the easy trail?

I've not been on Jacoby, but if it's the same as Holcomb it's going to be a lot of scraping.

Re: Trail Teams Invitational May 10/11 Big Bear CA

Well, I'm out.

Jon R of the Toyota Trail Teams sent me this email:

Sean,

Thank you for registering for the Toyota Trail Teams Big Bear Invitational.

We have noticed that you have registered to wheel your Tublar Chassis Rock Buggy, which is a great vehicle. Currently the vehicles which are being wheeling during the event are Toyota vehicles. If you wish to attend and wheel a provided FJ Cruiser, Toyota Tacoma or 4Runner please let me know and I will make the appropriate changes on our end.

Thanks for your time

Happy Trails,

Jon R

I guess having a Toyota based, street legal, registered and insured buggy isn't sufficient.

The wording on their site is misleading. Hopefully they'll see the ambiguity and remedy it. It says, "If you are a Toyota owner, perspective owner, off-road novice or die hard 'wheeler this event is for you."

Since I am a current Toyota owner and I consider myself a "die hard wheeler", I mistaken believed I was eligible. Guess not.

Oh well....maybe some of you will be going up in late June. That works better for my schedule anyway.

Sean

What gives Sean. Maybe they'll let you go. It's a Toyota!
