Re: Trail Teams Invitational May 10/11 Big Bear CA
No biggie. I just wanted to get up there and actually run the trail this time. I'll just hit it later in the summer since I'm not welcome at this event. I'm sure they'll be other trips up that way in June (I know of a Hummer trip to JB the very next weekend after the TT group....but that's not my extra Friday off week).

Sean i can just mail you my Toyota emblem and you could tape it on for the weekend
Got a huge chrome one off a Toyota Tundra that a friend gave me....little too big and bling for my taste though. I've been meaning to affix it to the hood, but just never got around to it.
Thanks anyway....doesn't look like it would matter.

Sean, why didn't you just say Toyota Truck? That's what you get for showing off.
Well, long story, but this has happened before with an event that said it was originally for all makes....but then they find out you have a buggy and you're not welcome. I sure as hell didn't want to drive all the way out there and THEN find out.
That does beg an interesting question......just "how much" or what attributes determine what kind of vehicle you drive?
I understand with a full on buggy it's a bit different, but what about the guy that buys a 1 ton mid 80s Chevy truck and then swaps the entire drivetrain plus an Atlas into an Xterra. Is he welcome at X only events even though his X is really just Nissan skin?
Does the body determine the make/model? Is it the engine? Is it whatever it's registered as?
What about Jeep Jamborees? I've seen guys accepted as "Jeeps" at these things in full tube chassis with a smorgasboard of differnt mfg. parts and only a Jeep grill, no problems. We've all likely seen built to the hilt vehicles that started out as Jeeps with 42" Swampers, D60/14B axles, SBC engines, TH400 trans with an Atlas....but by God the tub is still Jeep. Is it really still a Jeep and if yes or no, why does it really matter?
Of course, I've seen some of the factory sponsored events (or brand exclusives) where there is a limit on tire size. This one sorta makes sense, but at the same time isn't fair really.
Anyway, this is a tangent....perhaps it's best to start a new thread.
