Hmm.. I don't have anything besides my 3 week old FJ with no mods, should I re-think about doing this? I'll try to get as much possible before going, which I think I might be able to only get the tow strap...
Well at least bring water, food, blankets, etc. This isn't just for the trail ride it's because it's the prudent thing to do when your in the mountains. It's still spring and it's gets cold at night. Ask Tony how the fog was coming off the mountain last weekend? Imagine your self running off the edge of the road at night and getting a flat tire. Do you have a flashlight, some flares and the ability to change that tire? Even if you call AAA you need to be able to care for yourself and your passengers until they arrive. Too many people these days rely on the authorities to come to their rescue if something goes awry. I'm not saying, go out and spend thousands just to do Gold Mountain but to be prepared for the unexpected. FYI- The low tonight in Big Bear will be 30'.
You will meet a lot of neat people, learn a great deal and have a good time.

if, you are doing the easy trail you should be just fine, TRUST YOUR SPOTTER!! cant stress that enough. you probably wont be the only stocker out there. A big group like this should have you covered on gear. just bring the basics, food, flashlights, water, warm clothes, etc. you'll have a blast.

Even though it'll be May, the weather can still be very cold at night. Extra clothing, extra food, extra water, and first aid should be in the FJ. Have a car charger for your phone. With the reception iffy, the battery will drain quickly. Fog will roll in at night so be extra careful. Last week, the fog was so bad, I couldn't go faster then 15mph in some parts.
