Re: Off-Roading Near Houston

There is not too much to speak of as far as the Houston area goes unless you are willing to drive a couple of hours away to get to some of the better ORV parks.

If you are interested in meeting some fellow Toyota off-roaders you need to check out this thread over at TXTTORA:

http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38474

There will be a few FJ Cruisers at this meeting...so you won't feel alone in your new FJC!

Re: Off-Roading Near Houston

Cool...another Texan! I organize off-road trips every 2-3 months. See out last trip: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showth...ng+5%2F13%2F06

Our next trip is in a month or so. We are still deciding whether to hit Generalsams (http://generalsams.com/) again or spend a weekend in Katemcy Rocks (http://katemcyrocks.com/).

If you have never been to KR you need to plan a trip there. The wheelin is great if you are into the whole rock crawlin scene!

What part of Texas are you from?

I have not been to General Sam's but several of the TXTTORA Chapter members have been and have compared it to Shiloh Ridge. I have been to Shiloh Ridge and it is mostly mud...especially after a good rain. I have no desire for the mud, so I doubt a trip to General Sam's will never happen for me based on the reviews from our members.

By the way, don't know if you saw this thread or not on the TXTTORA forum:

http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38474

Thought you might be interested since you live in Houston.

Re: Off-Roading Near Houston

That sounds good. However, i actually prefer a group with all types of vehicle rather than just one brand. This is the only way that you will see different design philosophies.

BTW, Generalsams is not all mud. You can see the pics from the link above and the videos in my signature.
