A trail run is currently being organized for July 15th in Wrightwood, Southern California area. I am getting together with some of the same people who ran together for the Bonanza Fest (we had 11 FJCs there, and we had a great time) a couple of weeks ago. This will be a day trip, with easy to medium runs designed to keep those new to four wheeling comfortable, while allowing those more experienced to have a good time too. Those who have already commited to going are interested in the enjoyment of the area (we'll probably hit several types of climates in the area), as well as a chance for newbies to develop confidence in their abilities and those of their vehicle.
As I get more specifics, I will post them to this thread. Anyone interested, please let me know or post here and I'll make sure you get the meeting location in time for the trip. Come on, everyone - have some fun with your FJC !!! (Other vehicles are welcome, too...)

Quick update: We will meet at the restaurant at the intersection of the I-15 and Hwy 138. The restaurant site on the east side of the hwy, and is kinda unmissable. On the west side are several gas stations we can do splash and dashes at. To keep everything going in a timely matter we request everyone be fueled up before getting to the meeting place. As soon as I get the reastaurant's name I will post it. We will meet at 9 am... Looking forward to meeting some more cruiser fans...

Would you have actually driven down from Oregon to join us ??? I'm honored to be in your presence... . Good luck with the move, and with studying...

Actually Larry, the honor would be mine. You're one of a few around here with a lot of experience, info, & good judgement. I like the info you've been posting, keep it up man. I now have more of a desire to go wheelin thanks to this forum and it's awesome members like you and all the others that are posting wheeling events and post run pics. Can't wait to meet and hang out with some of you here.
I'm a newb, so I will be taking it nice and slow and relying on other's like you for your experience and advice. Once settled, I will likely wheel around Shaver/Clovis lake looking for fishing spots, but will make the drive if there's a good weekend event near by. Have fun and be safe.

Thanks for the kind words. In case I neglected to mention it before, this trip is tailored for people who are new to off roading. I spent many years proving my testosterone levels to others and damaging equipment to show that I could, but I'd like to think I'm older and wiser now (well, older , for sure...).
I like going out to have FUN, to see the graet outdoors, to get away from the daily grind, and to meet other people who like to do the same. The others who are going on this excursion are like minded, and we want everyone to feel comfortable with their ability and their vehicle. No one on these trips is out to prove anything, except how much fun you can have taking advantage of your FJC's abilities...

ANy trails for those of us that have FJ's with no front claw's?
Not sure what you mean, but most of the runs will be for stock FJCs (running board approved). Some of the trails will have sections for the more adventurous if they'd like, but won't have to if they don't want to... Like I said before, we're looking for people to come out and have a good time, not worry about impressing others with their off road fearlessness... however, all are welcome...
