Re: 2nd Annual Southeast MONSTER Meet (Eglin Reservation) Jan 17-18, 2009

Okay, we are one month out from this run and I want to take stock of where we are.

1) So far I have received orders for only two Recreational Passes; BigEd78 and TideFaithful. There is still time for more people to add their names to my list as I will be doing my run to Jackson Guard the weekend before.

2) We need to get a fairly firm number for the Friday Night Pig Roast / Meet & Greet. Dusther needs to put in an order for the pig very soon, SOOOOO if you are coming Friday Night please send Dusther a PM stating who you are and how many will be in your party.

and 3) Dusther, I know that this run is being advertised on at least 6 other sites, but I am not sure if the Meet & Greet was also. So we might want to check that out (LandCruiserGarrett maybe?) and see if there is a way to coordinate, if need be.

I am real excited about this run, folks. This is gonna be massive. BTW, who's camping out on the point with me?

First post updated with the above information as an "update" in the "update" section of the first post.

If you bring it then it will get eaten if we have enough to finish it all off. So NO objections of you bring some seafood.

I'll be cookin starting no later than 8:00 am on Friday morning. If any come to town early you are welcome to head over here and hang out for the day. but be warned ya come in my yard then you may just get put to work the fire will need feeding all day for this.

Just so everyone will know. I started adding ppl to the headcount list on the first page post #5 if you are not on this list then I am not aware you are coming let me know so I can get you and any guests added. Possibles are welcome to the list as I would rather have to much than not enough.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways at the last possible moment .... "Old Forester" in one hand, red meat in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming: "WOO HOO!! What a Ride."

Be great to have you. That Jeep of yours was a BEAST on the last run. see you there.

Campers of the world, UNITE!

Garett, I'll be bringing maybe 10 pounds of fresh East Bay shrimp and doing a simple boil with Swamp Fire seasoning. Oysters are ALWAYS welcome for the side!

Re: 2nd Annual Southeast MONSTER Meet (Eglin Reservation) Jan 17-18, 2009

I plan to camp too, but would like to know more about the camping situation. Some of you saw my small travel trailer in the Econo Lodge parking lot. Are the roads to the campsite passable while towing my trailer? Where can I stay Friday night? Birdman offered camping at his place but I don't know how close this will be to the gathering Frday evening. I would like to be able to set up in one location and be free to drive my FJ to the meet-n-greet Friday and to the gathering point Saturday AM w/o the hassle of moving my trailer. Would this be possible?

I am still undecided about attending but answers to the above questions could help me decide.

Thanks,
Ace
