Trails in Orange County or San Diego?

Hey, does anyone know of any trails in the OC/SD area? I'm not experienced and I'm going by myself (or just my girlfriend who isn't the best at pulling fj's out of the mud) so I'd like some easy, off-the-paved-path fun to start my experiences off. I'd like to think I'm some mad rockhopper, but I'd be content to just get out today and drive on a beach somewhere.

Lots of Coke cans and fast food boxes on the floor. MTB tire tracks all over inside. Girlfriend installed on the passenger seat who overlooks the fact that she could do so much better than me.

Future Mods: TRD CAI, Rock Rails, Air Dam, ARB air locker when the warranty expires.

Go to a bike(one that sells mountain bikes) shop, ask if they still make "Franko's maps of the Santa ana mountian range". If so Buy one. He'll show you trail heads for fire roads(sounds like what you want). or go up to Ortega hwy. and stop in the ranger station, ask where the trial heads are.
There are many roads in the OC. you can go on. One dirt road will take you from OC to SD off of Ortega hwy.
Happy hunting! Have fun!

Try the Main divide road thru OC (north) and San Diego (south), both are accessable from Ortega hwy.
