I do plan on having some Pre-FJ Summit fun in Utah. My dad, kids & I are going to follow the same route printed in the Summer 2007 Overland Journal article "Among the Ancients and Elephants"... We will be starting at the Valley of the Gods and working our way East and North to Comb Ridge, Cottonwood Wash, Beef Basin, Bobby's Hole, Elephant Hill, and ending at the Canyonlands National Park. This will be an amazing little trip full of beautiful scenery during the days and star filled skys at night.
We will be leaving Dallas TX very early on either July 7th or 8th depending on my dads work schedule. We will be camping on the trail until we reach Montrose Co on the 13th so my dad can catch a flight back to Dallas on the 14th. Then the boys and I will be headed over to Ouray for all the Summit 09 fun.. If anyone wants to join us on this mini Utah expedition you are more than welcome. Just give me a heads up if you want to join us. The more the merry.
