Northern Utah - Ward Canyon/Bountiful Loop

Hi All,

This is the official run announcement for Ward Canyon/Bountiful Loop on July 12th. (Due to my wife being busy and other committments, I couldn't go on the 11th, sorry to some of you). The plan is to meet at the Chevron Station on the 400 North Exit in Bountiful at 8:30 AM. When you get off the freeway, head east and its directly on your right hand side, can't miss it. Google Maps

I ran part of the trail today including Old Ward and its a tad bit more eroded since last time, but it just makes the tippy bits that more exciting. While its not a tough trail there are some parts that will very much get your attention, so i put it at about a 3. That trail connects to the Loop trail which we'll jump on, as well as do one other side trail with some epic east side views.

In terms of scenic awesomeness, this run is 2nd to none as the views are unmatched to any other trail I've run in Northern Utah....so you don't want to leave the camera at home. All are welcome to come along and if we could get an informal list of how many plan to attend that would be great.

Thanks guys..

P.S. Here are a few teaser pics!

Good luck wormhole.

Either way, you know when and where we'll be meeting.

Thanks. I'll should know for sure next Friday.

How long is the trail? Will a full tank of gas suffice? I should be free on 12 July, so count me in.

Big Ern,

It won't be a problem at all for gas...its not a particularly long trail, but plan on about 4-5 hrs from pavement to pavement so to speak cause we'll take a few breaks along the way and have lunch at a nice overlook...BYO of course!!

The trail goes over 9000 feet high in elevation so it really provides some terrific views.

Worm,

Thanks for posting that....there is indeed a ton of off-camber undulations where you will get one or more tires off the ground. I found my A-trac was very helpful as we'll be running the trail uphill not downhill

Re: Northern Utah - Ward Canyon/Bountiful Loop

With the run being only a couple of days away, can the folks who plan on attending please chime in so we can get a basic idea for numbers?

Thanks,

Kalen
