Moab October 18-29

I am in Moab now and will be here until the 29th. Plan to camp at Sand Flats and run a few easy to moderate trails. Expect the Toyota 4X4 Club Book Cliff Cruisers to join me Oct 23-25, when we will probably do some harder trails. If anyone can join us for any part of this time please do.

Ace,

I'm so jealous of you right now. We were wanting to make another trip back to Moab before the year was over, but it doesn't look like our schedules is going to allow that. Have fun and be safe!!

Re: Moab October 18-29

We stayed on in Moab until the 27 when it turned cold/rainy. Did Fins & Things, Porcupine Rim, Kane Creek (with Book Cliff Cruisers) and lots of general touring around as I had my cousin visiting and he had never seen the area.

Kane Creek was darn challenging with lots of steep ledges towards the end. One of our group lost his front end so he had to be strapped or winched up most of the hard stuff... very dark by the time we got out. There is a detailed report and photos on bookcliffcruisers.com.

Wednesday we went up on Grand Mesa and played in about 18" of fresh snow until white-out conditions forced a retreat.

Tomorrow I am packing up and heading back to Kentucky for a few weeks. Look for a posting on a planned run in Kentucky later this month. Stacey, hope you all can make it.

Ace

Re: Moab October 18-29

I was worried you might get hit with the crappy weather we've been experiencing up north here. I wasn't sure it would snow that far south yet.

I'm glad you all had such a fun time.

(heads to bookcliff to read the report...)
