Exclamation Buddie trail damage etiquette

Buddie trail damage etiquette

Got to thinking today..

Whate happens if while winching or snatching (strap) someone, damage occurs?

While following another vechicle, you get hit by a rock/part/spit.

Where is the stuff happens/part of wheeling, your fault die, die, die.

Please add examples and options/anwsers.

Thanks!

Problematic situation here and a lotta "what ifs". My personal rule of thumb is:

When you're winching or snatching, and if you have done your homework and have taken the proper precautions (such as using a rescue strap instead of a tow line to winch someone out of a situation) and damage still occurs then chalk it up to experience, $hit happens, but less often to those who are prepared and informed.

If you get nailed by a "rock/part/spit" when off-roading, then it's a good possiblility you were following too close. If you weren't too close, then once again $hit happpens. Chalk it up to experience. Fix your rig and go back out and enjoy it.

A non-professional, personal opinion.............and I'm sure there are many who feel differently.

Wow, really. I thought i'd hear otherwize.

As far as say winching etc, say you hook up both (if they have them) front hooks but get more grab to one side...bottom line you get a tweaked front end, you shrug and say, i tryed (hooker, no comments please) or cry and say fix it, you broke it (hookie)

Agreed. Let the stuck person take control (unless they're being unsafe or stupid).

+1 agreed. If you rig-it then, you can rest assure to only blame yourself. However, I like to view the off-road experience as a fellowship. So as long as there is no ignorance and especially negligence, I say no harm no foul. But a big thank you to all who lend a hand!

Re: Buddie trail damage etiquette

I think that your own truck is your own responsibility. If you do not trust someone to help you out when you are stuck then DO NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR TRUCK! If you do feel that they can help you and accept help from them then any damage is still your fault for letting them try to help you. I would say that 80% of trail damage is from the driver and the other 20% is from the driver getting into trouble and asking for help.
