I did the White rim trail last year and loved it! I'm going back to Moab in June for a week. I have a stock FJ with the off road essentials and camping gear. I prefer to stick to the "moderate" difficulty trails. I realize there are a lot of great scenic trails in the area, but are there any "must see" trails (either day trips or overnighters)?
If you only had a week in Moab, Which trails would you do?
Completely stock? Hells Revenge and Fins and Things are two I'd definitely do. Do you have the rear locker? If so, neither should present any real problem.....just don't try dropping into some of the optional obstacles like Mickey's Hot Tub or the Escalator.
If you have the rear locker and Atrac hack and also have factory (or aftermarket) sliders.....I'd also recommend Moab Rim....as long as you don't have a fear of heights. It can be quite off camber for newbies.
Go out to Chicken Corner. (Over Hurrah Pass I think.) It's fairly dramatic (Scenery) as well as not too difficult. Heck...in Moab area...it's all good! Enjoy!

I was out there last oct and traveling with one vehicle. So I took most of the easier trails.
The best I took were: Shafer Trail from Potash Rd into canyonlands park, I took a side trip to Mussleman Arch on White Rim Trail then back to Shafer. Beautiful views all the way.
Long Canyon trail AKA (Pucker Pass/Dead Horse pt rd) 0ff hwy 313 back to 279. A short-cut from dead horse pt back to moab, shorter trail but well worth it.
Onion Creek Trail off 128 near Fisher Towers. Several water crossings and many places to camp here if you can stand the smell.

Chicken Corner was so cool!!! It did scare the poop out of me, walking around on that ridge.
We're going last week of May, have a campsite on White Rim reserved. There is a trail (Scenic rating of 10, difficulty 5/6) entirely in Arches NP. I've got the name at home, I'll list it later. That's definitely on our list for this trip.
Needles is beautiful, but the trail isnt that interesting (difficulty rating of zero). - A

I believe you are referring to Klondyk Bluffs/Tower Arch? The first part of the trail is on a jarring washboard road. A couple parts of the trail are a little tricky. A jeep with no lockers and a 4x4 chevy pickup couldn't make it and had to turn back. From near tower arch I took the sandy road south then east and came out near balance rock. It was a smooth fun trail and you could avoid the ruff stuff.

We did the Arches / Klondike trail last year. Great trail and fantastic scenery. I'll put Chicken corners on my list for this year.
