Good lesson in what not to do and how not to do it. Bad driver, bad spotter, bad idea. I just hope the occupants were at least belted in and the interior gear was properly secured.
X2. He rolled because he backed up the bank on the PS / up hill side. Should of had a spotter, or at least used a rear view mirror.
Just goes to show how quickly things can go south.
There is always potential danger out there in everything. Think several steps beyond where you are in the moment. That is my tip of the day from my "other job" as Safety Manager. And on the way over yell "woo hoo!" for the camera.
For those of you thinking it was a bad spot or he wasn't using the mirrors, you'll notice that he didn't turn his wheels as he went up the hill which caused the roll. His vehicle started to slide that way almost immediately and there didn't look like there was anything he could do other than try to go a little slower.
Hindsight would have been to get out of the vehicle to visualize the back-up before he actually did it. I'm sure most of us wouldn't have thought twice to just a quick back-up like that ourselves. It appears the terrain was just too loose or wet to control the momentum while descending like that.
Ok, maybe it was a bad spot.

thats friggin brutal ..hard to make out what was the reason for him going backward
Think it was his *R gear and then G gear (gravity) took over.
* = reverse
