Re: Crossing Rivers and Streams

The front diff is in the engine bay on the driver's side of the engine block. The other breathers (tranny & TC) are together i think...see this link: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showth...ight=breathers.

The only one that is easy to do (and most important) is the rear axle breather. The other ones are OK where they are at. If you flood the other ones, then you have gone way too deep!

Re: Crossing Rivers and Streams

Id like to stress the Tread Lightly train of thought here if i may hold a sermon

Dont be all runnin around like your in a mitsubishi comercial and driving over random hills and through streams. stick to the path and if you have to cross a stream do it at a place in the trail. If you have to cross in a non trail area
then pick the shallow spot ( get out and walk it with a stick in hand )
know how high the intake is and dont go anywhere near that mark. drive slow and steady to a pre-thought out exit, driving slow and steady keeps down wheel spin that can hurt the enviroment/fish/keep from gettin stuck, also this makes a wave infront of the truck so that the wave actually pushes the water from infront of you.
again dont cross streams if you dont have to. exhaust, fluids and such can
hurt bambi later. wait i shot bambi. you get the point
