Transmissions / Transfer Cases / Traction AidsThis area is for discussion, questions and problems with the FJ Cruiser's gear train, including topics on A-TRAC, VSC, locking diffs, gear ratios, manual vs. AT, etc.
Did it in no time flat, now that I'm bold with my mods. It worked right away, and I love it. Makes up a little for paying for Atrac when others didn't have to. Thanks so much for coming up with this.

PROBLEM: Early production 2007 model FJs (~pre-November 2006) do not allow A-TRAC to operate in conjunction with the Rear Differential Locker (RR DIFF LOCK) or vice-versa. The ECU allows only one or the other to be active, but not both.
My question is in activating both Locker and A-TRAC. Today in Dallas we had a little snow/ice. I picked up my FJ on 12/30/06 so I don't know if its pre-November or not. I did the following.
1.)L4 then pressed Locker.
2.)Moved forward until indicator light quit flashing.
3.)Pressed A-TRAC - A-TRAC light came on.
From there I punched it to see how it felt. (very stable) then I turned off A-TRAC and punched it again. Didn't feel as stable especially in the steering wheel. (straight line)
So,,,, Does this mean I'm Post or Pre November????

Since you don't get much snow in Texas, but, OVERKILL. Worst case you needed 4H to deal with the ice, likely you didn't even need that.

That wasn't the point here. Its was my only possibility at this time of the weather here to try to determine what features work and what features don't in regard to Pre November v.s. Post November on the A-TRAC issue. But I do appreciate your input.. I was looking more of a comment from someone who's experienced the functionality of the features/feel so I can determine whether or not I need the A-TRAC mod or not....

I checked my build date--> 11/06.. then I fired her up and put the A-Track on, and locker on, then put it in different lock gear. Had A-trak light on, and both green and red rear diff lights on, so I assume I'm okay. (Shrugs)

Please go out and play in some soft dirt or snow, and report back. You are the first to verify the lights work, but it would be nice to have verification that rear locker and ATRAC work together on a base vehicle (or CQ option) with rear locker after performing the switch install. Thanks in advance. If you accelerate to the point of slippage, the braking noise (from ATRAC) should only be heard on the front axles, as the rear wheels should turn at the same rpm all the time locker is engaged.
