Re: Install of VSC cancel switch

Question for all you hackers...

Have any of you noticed in hacking any of the wires (grey, purple, whatever) that there is a way to "Enable" or "Turn on" VSC while in 4hi or 4lo?

I would like to be able to turn VSC "ON" in 4hi when my wife is driving in adverse conditons for safety.

Thanks

-Does anyone have the part number for the VSC switch on the 09's?
-How is the VSC switch wired in the stock 09's?
-Is the computer different to accomodate this in the 09?

This is what I'm wondering too. I haven't done any of the VSC hacks on my new '08 yet, but I REALLY would like to have the option to turn it off.

I've even given some thought to trading for an '09, but I got such a deal on my '08 (>8k off sticker) and with depreciation and no such deals on the '09s I can't see it.

BUT... since the '09 has the VSC cancel switch, I wonder if the '08 could be upgraded to add the '09 switch? Maybe with a flash? or an '09 computer? It would be nice if we could do this for a reasonable price.

There has to be a Toyota engineer somewhere who knows what the differences are between the '08 and the '09. I may make some calls and see if I can get any where with this before I go with the hack. It would sure be nice to have an "official" VSC switch.

in 4HI "TRAC" is on. Is is somewhat like the VSC in that it prevents wheel slippage.

yes.
go back a page on this thread and find the hack i commented on. this is the way i did it and i have a switch in the cab that allows me to turn vsc/trac/abs off and on at any time. i do not have to cycle the key. simply flip the switch and its off, flip it again and its back on.

Re: Install of VSC cancel switch

This is why it's nice to have the mod with an MT FJ.

Can't do that with VSC.

Still not nearly as good as this:

Re: Install of VSC cancel switch

NEW NEW NEW

in Dubai there is one man says he can do the same 2009 VSC off switch for the 2008 models all what you have to do is to buy the 2009 switch and take it to his garage.

and he will reprogram the ECU (I think - he said re programing only ) to the 2009 programing and it will work !

I was told by one of my friends who done it

ok important question to me. If you do the mod where you cut the blue/yellow wire, can a track be used?
