Re: Install of VSC cancel switch

Toyota Pete

Just came in from trying the other mod (installing a switch in the grey wire going to Skid control ECU) I cut the wire inside though, I've got enough wires go thru the wirewall allready. Both mods seem to work well together or one at a time. There are pros and cons to both mods. With my mod you have to come to a complete stop to engage the system but can dis-engage at anytime. The other way you can engage at any time but must stop and restart the engine to dis-engage. I am still hoping that there is a way to have a switch that can engage and disengage at any time. It's not over yet!

thx. keep up the good work and let us know the end results. having finally gotten some snow lately, I find the VSC to be considerably annoying and it sure as heck does not do what I would do to control slippage!

Re: Install of VSC cancel switch

Ditto that. I,m sure I've got more out of this forum than I,ve put in. Lots of great info here.

Tried a whole bunch of different things tonight and only came up with one improvement. At the RDL ECU, there is a violet wire with a red stripe. It is the last wire in that row. Just cut that wire and tape up both ends and you can engage the RDL at any speed. Be warned that it may not engage right away. The light may flash for a while until there is some differential action between the axles and the unit can engage. The wire that we cut is a speed control wire and does nothing else (that I'm aware of) LOL

Well, that's me done for awhile, off to Mexico for a week. Sure will miss all of this snow and -30 degree weather.... right!!!

Re: Install of VSC cancel switch

I'm too new at this forum thing to know if a this thread is worthy of being made into a sticky but I do think it would be a great idea to organize some of the different hacks, with the pros and cons of each, at the begining of the thread. We could have detailed instructions and pics for each hack and members could easily pick and chose what they liked. We should probably change the title of the thread too. There is more than just VCS cancel posted here.

Re: Install of VSC cancel switch

MissFJ, I think so. Seems there are a lot of folks looking to disable VSC/TRAC. Thanks,
Bugs
