I didn't have cruiser outfitters do my lift but they did my BMC and they're great guys who do good work. They're old man emu dealers if you wanted something different and bought it somewhere else I don't know if they'd do it or not, but it's worth checking it out.

Re: Best place for a lift and install in SLC?

I had all of my mods, suspension, bumpers, etc. done at my dealer, Tony Divino up in Riverdale if you can't find someone down in SLC. There is also a place in Ogden that's been recommended by the name of Fat Bob's Garage. I think they might have a place in Layton also.

I see you have Moab listed as your location. Have you tried Moab Off Road? I know Chip's Tire has done some repairs for me when I needed them and they might be able to do your suspension too.

Mod day is the best place! Pay with pizza, beer, etc!

I agree on Cruiser Outfitters if they will install stuff not purchased there.

Otherwise, I don't trust anyone but myself and friends

What lift is it?

I'd say buy it at fat bobs and have a mod day and have some fellow FJ guys help you throw it on! That's what I did!! Saved about 500 bucks! But I know a guy who works at fat bobs...

If you have a garage or access to one, pizza and beer and I will be there to help. They aren't too difficult, usually the worst part is rust/corroded bolts.

All the mods and vehicles I have ever owned.

Anything less than absolute overkill is a half assed waste of time.

Thanks for the replies all. So I'm looking at getting the OME for sure. I've talked with 4wheel parts I'm thinking of using them. Anyone heard anything scary about them?

I personally haven't done business with them, but I have read and heard many horror stories about them all over the country and on many forums for FJs, Tacoma, Tundra, Jeeps, etc. The local one there might be okay, it's hard to say.

Re: Best place for a lift and install in SLC?

Back in the day I had the SLC 4WP shop install a Rubicon Express lift on an XJ. Had no problems/complaints. Installing an OME is a basic spring/shock swap and I would not hesitate to take it there if you are not feeling up to tackling it yourself. That being said, Cruiser outfitters are great folks and I would definitely give them a call. I can't speak to the prices, as i have done all my own installs on my last few jeeps and the FJ.

Also, I would look to purchase from Rocky-Road outfitters in Heber City. They are OME distributors and offer a pre-assembled front kit at a good price (and you can pick them up there). They might need a bit of a lead time, but give them a shout.

All the mods and vehicles I have ever owned.

Anything less than absolute overkill is a half assed waste of time.

Re: Best place for a lift and install in SLC?

Buy whatever lift you'd like to use (will save you money on markup) and bring it to GT Automotive in South Jordan. I'm a service advisor here and we'd be more than happy to take care of it. gtautomotive.com

orrrr x2 on mod day.
