WTB: 17" Steelies

As the title states, I am looking for a set of 4 stock steel (steelies) wheels.

Let me know if you have some you want to part with!

Thanks

Re: WTB: 17" Steelies

Damn things are pricey for ugly steel wheels. I bought a set of four locally off Craigslist for like $50.00 in as-new condition, and then paid $80.00 for the fifth wheel (because I like **** to match ;-).

I like the steelies because they're a sort of statement about the dorks who have gaudy 20 inch wheels and 10 series tires (that can't roll over a curb without going flat). I know that they don't get it, but I don't care. :-)

Ordered mine brand new off the Innerwebs at $50-55 ea, inc the hub cap. Shipping was not very bad at all. They came out of Oklahoma.

The place that had them for $55 hasn't had them for years.

This is the same place. These look interesting. They don't say the centerbore and backspacing though, so hmm

Re: WTB: 17" Steelies

Sorry Rox, but it has been too long since I ordered them. I do remember they were billed as OEM factory wheels installed in Japan, taken off at the port of entry (immediately replaced with the alloy type rims), then subsequently resold to customers from an Oklahoma internet vendor. The Wheels Express link that the Carwash guy has provided may very well be the vendor, but those wheels shown do not exactly look like the OEM steelies. Best advise I can give is to run a Google for "factory OEM takeoffs for sale" or something similar.

Oh you are totally right on how it went down. They just sold out long ago. Price even jumped up to around $70/wheel too. The ones I posted are just the only other set they sell at the moment. Just no more port take-off stashes out there!
