I would seem logical, but the previous poster said his bars would slide All the way forward. Mine won't possitively. His is an 07 mine is 08 - reason would dictate the 07's came with a bit longer bars?

Did you try loosening the adjusting screws on the bottom side of the end cap?
yes i tried that ,dosnt have much adjustment maybe 1.5" thats it -the differenent ends are not interchangeable on 08's
i completely disassembled them , to attempt reassembly in a longer config
